Solo Exhibition – Mollerussa Surrealista (Spain, 2016)
“Mollerussa Surrealista” was a scientific journey through art where the researcher and artist Albert Barqué-Duran considered what surrealism and the study of the brain have in common. The aim of the artwork exhibited was to propose a reinterpretation-actualisation of the surrealist movement through the contemporary research knowledge in Cognitive Science.
The artist also made a performance where he read a Manifesto of Surrealism written by an Artificial Neural Network (using Deep Writing techniques).
The exhibition and performance took place between the 23rd of December 2016 and 5th January 2017 at the “Museu de Vestits de Paper” in Mollerussa, Albert’s native village in Spain.
